Hotel Hundseck

Successful as a wellness clinic until the year 1982, the hotel was closed down after the recession in mining. Only one year later, the hotel was sold to become an apartment block with 50 apartments. This construction project was not implemented in the end. For a short period of time, the wellness clinic opened again as a youth hotel. In 2006, a Bulgarian hotelier bought the hotel and planned to re-open as a low-budget hotel. A renovation never took place, and almost 20 years of vacancy became noticable.

November 2010, several auctions later, storm "Carmen" destroyed huge parts of the house's roof, that haven't gotten repaired ever since. 2012: acute danger of collapse. Parts of the building are completely soaked, ceilings are about to break down. In Novemer, parts of the houses are being demolished.
