Hotel Alexanderschanze

Back in 1868, there used to be forester's house with a barn for horses and wagons, right here. When it burned down in 1911, today's Alexanderschanze was built to b a pub. in 1925 the oldest son of the constructor took over the hotel. From 1939 to 1945 the hotel was used as a shelter for metropolitans, who lost their homes due to war. Until 2001, the hotel, with its 25 rooms, was a contact point for hikers.

Due to technical difficulties, the hotel could not be provided with water anymore. It officially closed down in 2015. Recently, the state bought it, because of its prime location.
