General Patton Hotel

Das im Jahr 1953 eröffnete Hotel war ursprünglich im Besitz der U.S. Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC). Es handelte sich hierbei um ein Hotel, in denen US-Amerikanische Streitkräfte Ruhe und Entspannung fanden. 2004 wurde es an die deutsche Regierung zurückgegeben. Zuletzt waren hier Flüchtlinge untergebracht. Nach dem Umbau soll das Gebäude als Seniorenresidenz dienen. Leider kam ich etwas zu spät: Die Sanierungs- und Renovierungsarbeiten waren bereits in vollem Gange.

This hotel opened in 1953 was owned and operated by the U.S. Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC). Armed forces recreation centers (AFRCs) are a chain of Joint Service Facility resorts hotels owned by the United States Department of Defense to provide rest and relaxation in the form of lodging and outdoor recreation for United States military service members. In 2004the hotel was returned to the German Government. Before the renovation, refugees were housed here. Plans are renovating the hotel and using it as a senior residence. Sadly I was too late: Renovation was already in full swing.
