Pensionnat Catholique

After our trip to Chateau Lumiere, we made our way to Pensionnat Catholique, which is well-known for the beautful chapel inside the school. This abandoned girls' boarding school was built in 1937. The chapel was finished two years later, in 1939.

During WW2, the building was occupied by the German army. Lateron the school was known as the "Adolf Hitler School", where future officers have been trained until the end of war. In the 1970s, the number of students peaked at over 600 students. But in the following years, the number of students began to sink steadily. In the year 2000, the school finally had to be closed.
